The Godless Spellchecker Podcast

The Godless Spellchecker Podcast is an award winning weekly sceptical show in a conversational, interview format hosted by Stephen Knight. We hear from leading public figures as well as people without a public profile that have equally valuable experiences and ideas to share. The goal is to amplify good ideas and scrutinise bad ones. I think we've all learned something here today.

This week on Taking The MythStephen Knight and AScotsman Abroad discuss the big topics with guest callers: Did Zionists Steal My Shoe? We ask whether Asghar Bukhari is a lunatic, or if those pesky Jews, um, Zionists really are stealing his footwear. Also, what are the 5 things detailed in Ayaan Hirsi Ali's new book 'Heretic' which she feels are essential for Islamic reform? Can they work? And we bang the drum about Raif Badawi. #MossadStoleMyShoe

The excellent Dr. Christian Jessen (@DoctorChristian) joins me on this week's #GSPodcast. He'll be telling us all about the ridiculous notion of 'gay cures', what they involve and what motivates their proponents (SPOILER: religion). Dr Christian underwent some of these 'therapies' as part of his superb documentary 'Undercover Doctor: Cure Me I'm Gay'. Some are horrific, others are just plain absurd. He'll be guiding us through them and explaining why they're harmful and unscientific.

We also touch on the notion of 'no platforming', quackery, homeopathy, Embarrassing Bodies, the lack of 'out' professional football players and much, much more!
